Description :
A classic spiced wine punch. A wonderful holiday beverage.
Ingredients :
- 10 whole cloves
- 7 cardamom pods, crushed
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 2 cups water
- 10 blanched almonds
- 1 orange, cut into fourths
- 1 package (9 oz.) raisins
- 2 bottls (750ml each) dry red wine
- 1 3/4 cups vodka
- 1 3/4 cups brandy
- 1/3 cup sugar
Directions :
- Tie cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon in cheesecloth bag.
- Heat spice bag, water, almonds, orange and raisins to boiling in 4 quart Dutch oven.
- Reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
- Remove spice bag and orange.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
- Heat just to boiling.
- Ladle several raisins into each cup.
- Fill with hot Glogg.
