Description :
A classic spiced wine punch. A wonderful holiday beverage.
Ingredients :
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 7 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 cups water
  • 10 blanched almonds
  • 1 orange, cut into fourths
  • 1 package (9 oz.) raisins
  • 2 bottls (750ml each) dry red wine
  • 1 3/4 cups vodka
  • 1 3/4 cups brandy
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Directions :
  1. Tie cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon in cheesecloth bag.
  2. Heat spice bag, water, almonds, orange and raisins to boiling in 4 quart Dutch oven.
  3. Reduce heat.
  4. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
  5. Remove spice bag and orange.
  6. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  7. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
  8. Heat just to boiling.
  9. Ladle several raisins into each cup.
  10. Fill with hot Glogg.
