Flaky Biscuits

Ingredients :
  • 2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup butter
Directions :
  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar.
  2. Mix in butter, then milk, until ingredients are blended (do not overmix).
  3. Form mixture into a ball, patting out on floured surface to 3/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut into round biscuits using cutter.
  5. Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
