Ingredients :
- 2 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup butter
Directions :
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar.
- Mix in butter, then milk, until ingredients are blended (do not overmix).
- Form mixture into a ball, patting out on floured surface to 3/4 inch thick.
- Cut into round biscuits using cutter.
- Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
