Cranberry Scones

Description :
Warm from the oven and topped with butter!
Ingredients :
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup chilled butter, sliced
- 1 cup cranberries
- 1 cup buttermilk, divided
Directions :
- Combine 2/3 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, and baking soda in large bowl.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Fold in cranberries.
- Stir in 3/4 cup buttermilk until just moistened.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead 6 to 8 times.
- Divide dough in half.
- Pat each half into an 8 inch circle.
- Cut each circle into 8 wedges.
- Brush tops with remaining buttermilk.
- Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
- Transfer to ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F. for 15 minutes or until golden.
