Cranberry Scones

Description :
Warm from the oven and topped with butter!
Ingredients :
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup chilled butter, sliced
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 cup buttermilk, divided
Directions :
  1. Combine 2/3 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, and baking soda in large bowl.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Fold in cranberries.
  4. Stir in 3/4 cup buttermilk until just moistened.
  5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead 6 to 8 times.
  6. Divide dough in half.
  7. Pat each half into an 8 inch circle.
  8. Cut each circle into 8 wedges.
  9. Brush tops with remaining buttermilk.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
  11. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet.
  12. Bake at 350°F. for 15 minutes or until golden.
