Angel Food Cake

Ingredients :
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Egg whites (about 10-12 large eggs)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
Directions :
  1. Place egg in large mixing bowl and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Sift very well powdered sugar and flour together.
  3. Beat eggs whites, cream of tartar, and vanilla with electric mixer on medium high until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Sift about 1/4 of flour mixture over beaten egg whites, fold in gently.
  6. Repeat sifting and folding in remaining flour mixture, 1/4 at a time.
  7. Pour into ungreased tube pan.
  8. Gently cut through batter with knife.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until top springs back.
  10. Immediately invert cake and allow to cool completely.
