Basic Decorating Icing

Makes 2 1/2 cups
Description :
A Basic Icing for Cookies or Cakes; Thick Enough for Piping
Ingredients :
  • 4 cups C&H Pure Cane Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1.4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. flavoring (optional)
  • food color (optional)
Directions :
  1. In large bowl beat all ingredients at medium speed 8 to 10 minutes. Keep icing covered to prevent drying. Store in refrigerator. Hints: Thicken with C&H Pure Cane Powdered Sugar or thin with a few drops of water, if needed.
