User Rating:

Serving Info :
One 9-inch pie
Cooking Time :
45-55 minutes
Ingredients :
- 1 nine-inch pie shell
- 1 1/2 cups of pecan halves or pieces
- 3/4 cup of evaporated milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 stick or 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups of firmly packed Imperial® Light Brown Sugar or 6 Redi-Measure Light Brown Sugar Pouches
- 1/2 cup of Imperial® Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
Directions :
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Prepare or thaw a 9-inch piecrust. Place on a foil or parchment lined cookie tray for easy clean up after baking. Pour the pecan halves or pieces in the pie shell and set aside.
- Using a whisk combine the evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla, salt and melted butter. Whisk in the brown sugar and granulated sugar and combine well. Pour the filling over the pecans; the pecans will float to the surface.
- Place in the oven at 400°F. After 10 minutes reduce the heat to 350°F and bake until the center no longer trembles, about 35-45 minutes.
